All thats left is Love

Thank you all so much for the tremendous outpouring of love and support and compassion and kindness. It has been a nonstop flood of love flowing towards our family. All the food, flowers, gifts and sweet words of comfort have meant so much to our family in this terrible time. We all thank you deeply. A few words from a mother’s perspective. When I was in labor with Juliana the midwife told me, that natural labor is the most amount of pain a body can handle before it dies. Going through her birth brought a sense of confidence in the knowing that I survived. However, I believe she was wrong. Feeling the loss and grief over my daughter’s death is more. Its not only a physical crippling sensation it’s a literal suffocating fog of the deepest sadness I have ever experienced. The worst nightmare materializing and not a thing I can do but feel every ounce of excruciating anguish. What I understand from this experience is pain is Natures Tenderizer. Its an opportunity to intimat...

Share Love Now

Its been a little while since I’ve had the feeling to write. Something has been changing in me and I simply have had the desire to just be. And now today on this Tuesday in the beginning of our summer here in gorgeous Colorado I am feeling the inspiration to share some things with you. Listening to the teachings of Abraham/ Ester Hicks they encourage us to start right where we are. Then search for a better feeling thought.  Right where we all are, being faced with corruption, sadness death destruction, hatred, heartbreak.  I feel such a deep welling of compassion for all of those hurting. I too feel the sadness and wish to make it different. I know by focusing on the good and positive that is present right now I can offer a soothing vibration to myself and those around me. It is too easy to get caught up in all the chaos and fear and hatred, its seductive and natural.  I wish to be above those sensations, selfishly I want to feel good. I want to feel good about...

Superlove Superdome

Image
Superdome Super Love Memory 2008 I was invited to teach yoga in the superdome. At that point I had been teaching for almost a decade and was honored and excited to be one on the many teachers invited. Eve Ensler the creator of the Vagina Monologues had wanted to turn the Super dome into a super love event in honor of her monologue productions 10 year anniversary. She chose the superdome because of the tragic events that occurred there during the Hurricane Katrina. The intention was to invite all those who survived the horrific catastrophe and bring them in for a new experience of love and nurturing. The wellness suites were filled with massage therapists and yoga teachers, aromatherapy, meditation and beauticians. The superdome was turned into a giant pink vagina. We got to be inside the walls, sharing love with all those who entered. My experience was profound. As these women came to me to learn yoga I felt like they were teaching me, they each brought tremendous strength wit...

Stepping into the shoes of another

Image
For the past few weeks I’ve been trying an experiment. With each person that comes into my day, (stranger or friend) I have been allowing my heart/mind to imagine what it is like to be that person.   As I have a conversation with someone else I listen closely and really try to get where they are coming from. I try to understand what it is like on their side of the conversation. I try to understand how they might be feeling and what is truly driving them at that moment. This has been magical.   I have noticed a deeper connection with those around me. I have noticed that the harsh judging mechanism that likes to run me has quieted down. I have noticed a welling up of pure love and compassion for the people in my life. I have noticed complete appreciation for the person and the circumstance that has allowed for our connection. I have noticed a surge of energy in my daily dealings with people. I have most importantly noticed a softening around my marriag...
